IT is the season to be on Stolly and Bolly it appears, with two of Hollywood’s leading ladies being booked for drink driving over the Christmas period.

Actress Mischa Barton became the latest Hollywood starlet to be arrested for driving and drug offences, just before veteran actress Rebecca De Mornay was charged with low range DUI.   

Former OC Star Barton was pulled over just before 3am after police noticed her car had been weaving back and forth as she drove through West Hollywood, California.

Police said her vehicle was straddling two lanes of traffic and she failed to signal when making a turn.

The English-American actress — best known for her portrayal of Marissa Cooper on Fox’s defunct teen drama "The O.C." - was taken into custody and spent seven hours behind bars.

"During Ms. Barton’s detention, it was determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage," the official report from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department stated.

She was also suspected to be in possession of marijuana and an unidentified controlled substance, said Sgt. John Hocking.

She was charged with three criminal counts: driving under the influence, possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid license.

Barton, who was released on $US10,000 bail, is the latest in a string of young Hollywood celebrities to be arrested this year, including Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan.

"Risky Business" beauty Rebecca De Mornay was charged today by the L.A District Attorney’s office with two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence, stemming from her October 30 arrest.

Cops pulled over the 48-year-old actress on Sunset Blvd. on the night before Halloween. During the stop, cops told TMZ they "immediately detected an odour of alcoholic beverages."

They told us De Mornay was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which she failed.

Police say her blood alcohol level was .09, just over the legal limit. She was cited and released from the Beverly Hills police station.

De Mornay will be arraigned on December 31, but she does not have to appear.
