Barack Obama is following in John F. Kennedy’s foot steps by skipping out on the Democratic National Convention to accept the Democratic nomination before the people in Invesco Field at Mile High, a 76,000-seat stadium.

"For us to be able to do it in Invesco Field is an opportunity for 80,000 people who might otherwise not have been able to participate to get involved," Obama said in St. Louis.

Obama’s acceptance speech will take place on final night of the August 25-28 convention.

The rest of the Democratic convention will take place in the Pepsi Center, where evidently DNC Chair Howard Dean is struggling to pay the bills. The Obama campaign is reportedly helping with that.

Invesco Field is home to the Denver Broncos.
