Radcliffe faces D-day

PAULA RADCLIFFE will have a scan at the British Olympic Association medical centre today to see if it is worth pursuing her Beijing dream.
The marathon world record holder, who is battling to recover from a stress fracture to her left leg, will be named in today’s British team ahead of the July 20 deadline.
Radcliffe, 34, will not make a final decision until nearer the Games, reserving the right to pull out of the marathon on August 17 if need be.
Olympic doctors will see if the fracture is bearing up under training.
Dave Collins, UK Athletics performance director said: “It makes sense to check regularly there are no adverse affects to training.”
