KEVIN KEEGAN says Michael Owen will sign a new deal with Newcastle in the next two or three weeks.

Owen’s current contract expires next summer.

But boss Keegan said: “I’m not involved in talks, it’s down to Dennis Wise and Tony Jiminez.

“He wants to stay. I hope we’ll sort it within two or three weeks.”

Keegan will give striker Oba Martins as long as he needs to get over his mum’s death.

He added: “It’s a tragedy. We’ll do everything we can to help.”
